School visits

Liverpool Neuro Physio provides a service for children who have neurological conditions during their school hours. This involves the physiotherapist providing a treatment session within their school environment. Physiotherapy sessions within the school environment can relieve the pressure on the parents to attend sessions and will encourage relaxation, as the child is in a familiar environment.

Physiotherapy school visits for children with neurological conditions may receive some of the following treatments:

Regular treatment session within the school environment
Hydrotherapy (if specialised school)
Education to teachers / carers in the school
Equipment assessment and re-assessment for school use(e.g. seating equipment, standing equipment etc)

These sessions can be beneficial as the child is within a familiar environment and the stresses associated with travelling to a clinical environment are eliminated, which potentially could improve compliance and enhance the child’s performance.
