Saebo rehabilitation
Saebo rehabilitation is a spring loaded device which is applied to the upper arm following a neurological injury or condition which has impaired the function in the arm. Liverpool Neuro Physio have specialised physiotherapists who are trained to assess, order, fit and adjust the orthoses.
Saebo rehabilitation is aimed at improving the function of the arm and hand to those who have a neurological impairment. Some of the common Saebo orthoses available are:
- Saebo Flex – this is aimed at improving the function of the hand and wrist. The Saebo flex enables the individual to use the hand for therapy and functional tasks.
- Saebo Reach – this is an extension to the Saebo Flex above elbow. If a person is unable to use the Saebo Flex due to lack of control at the elbow joint the Saebo Reach is better suited. This enables the individual to use their upper limb, hand and wrist in therapy session and functional activities.
- Saebo Stretch – this is a dynamic splint which is used with those who are at risk of developing contractures on the wrist and hand.
